April 1 Bee Update

Happy April! If you ordered late April nucs with Carlisle pickup, you have received an email from me today, as we’ve had a delay. I hope your bees are doing well or if you’re waiting on bees, that you are getting everything ready. If we can help you with supplies or any questions prior to that, just let us know. The strange above normal temperatures continue…

  1. If you find that you need more bees, we still have limited availability for mid-May Carniolan packages (with 2023 queens from Latshaw genetics). We should have 2023 Carniolan queens in stock starting April 17.
  2. Early April Package Bees (these are not nucs): Pickup at Walnut Farm Bees farm shop in Carlisle, PA: Saturday, April 8, 6am-10am (ring buzzer if no one is there–we’re around). For Nicholson, PA, pickup at convenient parking area in Nicholson, right along route 11 (ask us if you did not receive the email with the pickup location and directions, can be reached that day at 717-514-9891): Saturday, April 8, 5pm-8pm. Let us know at least 48 hours prior if you want us to bring along any supplies to purchase–we will have feed and pollen patties available in limited quantities, but we can bring larger amounts by request. 1:1 spring syrup with Apis Biologix and Global Pollen Patties with real pollen are now in stock!

Nitrile gloves will be available, or if you have NEW bee gloves, you may bring those (bio security protocol—not negotiable if you wish to be hands on). You may also wish to bring a snack, if you will be hungry.
