This honey (called "honeydew") was made by Pennsylvania honeybees as a result of the spotted lanternfly. The spotted lanternfly collects sweet sap from trees, and then the honeybees turn it into a type of honey often referred to as honeydew. The result is a thick honey that has a smokey, tangy flavor, unlike traditional honey. It has been shown to have antibacterial properties that are similar to manuka honey, and is good for grilling. Some people love it and others do not. Be adventurous and give it a try! Our processing facility is licensed and inspected in Pennsylvania.
