This honey (called "honeydew") was made by Pennsylvania honeybees as a result of the spotted lanternfly. The spotted lanternfly collects sweet sap from trees, and then the honeybees turn it into a type of honey often referred to as honeydew. The result is a thick honey that has a smokey, woody flavor, unlike traditional honey. While primarily lanternfly, this honey has some other fall nectars mixed in as a result of what the bees were foraging on this year. It has been shown to have antibacterial properties that are similar to manuka honey, and is good for grilling. Some people love it and others do not. Be adventurous and give it a try!
